Speaking Up Is Only the Beginning

Helping people of all ages find the courage to speak—and helping others know how to listen, respond and act.

The Brave Voice Foundation exists for anyone who has felt silenced, dismissed, bullied, pressured, excluded or afraid to ask for help. We believe every person, at every age, deserves to be heard, treated with dignity and supported without judgment.

Speaking up matters, but what happens next matters just as much. Our work brings together education, practical resources, awareness and responsible pathways to appropriate support. We empower individuals while helping families, educators, caregivers, professionals and communities respond with compassion and meaningful action.

Turning Courage Into Action

We focus on both sides of the conversation: empowering people to use their voices and helping others receive those voices responsibly.

Find Your Voice: We create accessible tools and guidance to help people recognise what they are experiencing, put it into words and feel more confident asking for support.

Be Heard: We encourage families, educators, caregivers, professionals and community members to listen without judgment, take concerns seriously and respond with care.

Find a Way Forward: We help people better understand their options and identify responsible next steps, including professional or local support when appropriate.

Create Change: We promote awareness, education and responsible action that can help make homes, schools, workplaces and communities safer and more respectful.

The Experiences That Too Often Go Unspoken

People can feel silenced at any age and in any environment. Our work addresses:

• Bullying and cyberbullying• Harassment, intimidation and exclusion• Peer, social and workplace pressure• Harmful influence, coercion and substance-related pressure• Fear of speaking up or asking for help• Shame, isolation, blackmail and feeling unheard• Low confidence and difficulty advocating for oneself• Uncertainty about how to respond when someone reaches out

These experiences may look different across ages, cultures and communities, but the need remains the same: a safe way to speak, a compassionate response and a clear path forward.

Building Trust Through Every Interaction

We are committed to:

• Listening without judgment• Treating every person with dignity and respect• Welcoming people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures• Providing clear, accessible and responsible information• Handling personal experiences with sensitivity and care• Being honest about what we can and cannot provide• Building partnerships thoughtfully and responsibly• Continually learning from the people and communities we serve

Our goal is not simply to encourage people to speak. It is to help create a world that is better prepared to listen.

The Brave Voice Foundation provides education, guidance and connections to resources. It does not replace licensed professional care, legal advice or emergency services.

Our Story & What We’re Building

Every voice deserves to be heard.

The Brave Voice Foundation began with a simple belief: no one should have to carry fear, bullying, grief, pressure or difficult experiences in silence.

We support people of all ages—children, teenagers, adults and older adults—because everyone deserves to feel heard, valued and supported.

1

Where Our Story Began

Our story began with a desire to create a more compassionate world where speaking up feels safe and asking for help is recognised as an act of courage. We want people facing difficult moments to know that their experiences matter and that they do not have to face them alone.
2

Our First Resource

Feelings in My Backpack is one of the first resources connected to our mission. Created to help children recognise and express difficult emotions, it represents one part of our broader commitment to encouraging honest conversations and helping people of every age find their voice.
3

What We’re Building

We are at the beginning of our journey. We are working to build accessible resources, trusted connections, supportive programmes and meaningful partnerships that serve individuals, families and communities across different ages, backgrounds and life experiences.

Our purpose is clear: to listen, to care and to remind every person: You matter. We hear you. You are not alone.

A Note From Our Founder

Why I Founded The Brave Voice

Too many people carry fear, bullying, pressure or painful experiences in silence because they are unsure how to speak up—or whether anyone will truly listen. I founded The Brave Voice Foundation to help change that. My vision is to create an organisation where children, teenagers and adults feel empowered to use their voices, while the people around them are better prepared to respond with compassion and meaningful action. This is about more than finding the words. It is about helping someone feel believed, supported and no longer alone.
